Week Commencing 13th March 2017

This week we have continued looking at area, perimeter and measures in Maths; in English we completed our final drafts of our stories and have begun to study newspaper recounts.

Thank you for supporting our art work in the show today. It was lovely to see so many parents attend and support us. 

 

Week Commencing 6th March 2017

Another great week in year 6. It was a pleasure meeting so many parents for parents evening, your support was greatly appreciated.

We have been working really hard on our English and Maths this week. The children have produced some amazing drafts for their stories based on Oliver Twist and have learnt about converting measures as well as area and perimeter. 

I'm sharing a sneak peek at our art work based on Banksy which will be part of the whole school show next week. Please come along to support our art show next Friday.

 

 

 

Week commencing 20th February 2017

A huge thank you for the efforts on Oliver Twist over the half term! The children have come back ready to jump straight in to their learning. 

This week we have a skipping course on Tuesday and loads of great art work coming up as part of a whole school project. 

Look out for the parents evening letters coming out this week also. 

 

Week commencing 30th January 2017

Another fabulous week in year 6. The children have produced amazing work and showed off their excellent editing skills.

Don't forget Hilltop next week, be in school by 8:15am for an early start!

Week commencing 23rd January 2017

This week we edited and improved a set of instructions for making a mars bar cake. By the time Friday rolled around, we had worked so hard and read about them so much we decided to make our own!

 

  

  

Week commencing 16th January 2017

Another focused week for year 6. We drafted, edited and improved our stories based on the hobbit. Using this process we produced some amazing stories this week; look out for the excerpts below.

We also finished our algebra journey this week, looking at creating formulae and knowing when to isolate our variable. 

  

 

Week commencing 9th January 2017

We had a busy first full week back, focusing on our core skills of English and Maths throughout the week. 

We had some brilliant exampls of writing while developing our grammar skills ready to write our stories we will be sharing next week. We also continued our journey in to understanding algebra by beginning to create and use our own formulae.

    

 

 

Week Commencing 4th January 2017


Happy New Year and welcome back.  A short first week back where the children were assessed on Reading, Grammar and Maths ready for the new year. 

We have begun to study the pointillism artist Charles Angrand and are planning on creating a biography about him next week, before recreating his famous style.
