We have had a great first week back. We have started to read our new story, ‘Rosie’s Walk.’ This story lends itself to lots of role play. The children have enjoyed pretending to be Rosie and Mr. Fox.
This term in Maths, we are revisiting all prior learning to ensure learning is embedded and secure. This week we have revisited comparing groups.
The children have continued to take an interest in minibeasts. The children have made some wonderful bug hotels. Next week, we are learning about bees and how to look after them.

In Literacy, we have started to read our new story, ‘The Big Book of Bugs’.
In Maths, we have been exploring our number bonds to 10. We used the rhyme, ‘10 Fat Sausages’ to help us with this.

We have continued to learn about insects and have learnt all about the lifecycle of a butterfly.
How can you help at home?

In Literacy, we continue to read our new story, ‘Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk.’ Our writing is improving every day, and we have enjoyed writing about the jellybean stalk.
In Maths, we have been exploring ten frames and double dice frames.
We have also been learning about insects. We can now name some insects and say why.

We really enjoyed our visit to Rand Farm Park. The children had so much fun and represented the school very well.
In Literacy, we continue to read our new story, ‘Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk.’ We enjoyed tasting some jellybeans and used some great vocabulary to describe the flavour.
We have started to learn about minibeasts and enjoyed going on a minibeast hunt in our outdoor area. We are looking forward to receiving our new bug hotel. The children have enjoyed making their own bug hotels too.

We have a had a lovely first week back. We have enjoyed exploring our new equipment in the outside area. We really enjoyed our visit to Bowthorpe Farm. The children thoroughly enjoyed stroking the lambs and learning about the farm animals. We are looking forward to Rand Farm Park on Monday!
In Literacy, we have started to read our new story, Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk.’ We are looking forward to trying some jelly beans next week.
In Maths, we have been practising our careful counting to 20 and beyond.
On Wednesday, we also received our eggs. We have put them in the incubator and we are waiting patiently for the chicks to hatch over the next few weeks. We will keep you posted!
