Autumn term-week 3
This week we continued our learning on the digestive system, looking at teeth in Science. In RE we learn about Islam rites of Passage. The week ended with our super exciting Christmas light switch on.
Autumn term 2-Week 2
This week we began our learning on Multiplication and division. We have been working hard on our timestables in Year 4 and Mrs Jones is really proud of us. In Geography we are learning about mountains. Sleaford Museum came into school and talked to us about both Sleaford and Lincoln castle. mark explained all about the Magna Carta and even brought in a key.....was it from Sleaford castle?
Autumn term 2-Week 1
We have begun our new English unit learning about how the digestive system works. Luckily for us it's super exciting and we are learning about it in Science too. This week we did a brilliant experiment which was very messy!!!
Week 6
We began our learning on the story of Aladdin in English and delved into what sort of a character he was. We looked at classifying animals in Science and some of loved it so much that we created our own ones at home. In PE Mrs Jones filmed us perfoming our final routine in gymnastics. We demonstrated wonderful balances, handstands and cartwheels.
Week 5
This week we have completed our big writes. Mrs Jones was really pleased with our efforts and the pride we took in our presentation. In Maths we have moved onto addition and subtraction, starting with adding 1s,10s,100s and 1,000s.
Week 4
This week really embedded our place value and moved onto rounding. We found it tricky to begin with but used our knowledge of numberlines to support us. We are coming to the end of our English unit and are excited for our big write. In PE we have been using our handstand and cartwheel skills and putting them into routines.
Week 3
We learnt all about the Bass Maltings and the children absolutely loved it. Some of the children even did some research in their own time and visited the historic building. We continued our learning on 'Float' and have produced some really beautiful discriptive sentences.
Week 2.
This week we began our Place Value in Maths and started to write about a boy and his boat in Engish. In Science we looked at types of plants local to us. In History we are excited to be learning all about Sleaford.
Week 1.
Welcome back and welcome to Year 4. The children have began to settle in well and we have spent this week revisiting our behaviour curriculum. We have talked about expectations in Year 4 and created our class charter together.
