Autumn 2 Announcements

PE on Tuesday and Friday.

15.12.25 - 19.12.25

This week we completed our letters to The Grinch for English. In maths we completed our ratio unit by looking at proportion problems and recipes. 

For non-core we completed our own Christmas cards with working circuits that lit LEDs.

8.12.25 - 12.12.25

 This week we have continued our persuasive writing in English and begun planning our own persuasive letters for The Grinch. Our maths lessons have focused on ratio and understanding how ratio works. 

In non-core we have explored working collaboratively in computing by editing and changing other people's scratch work. We have also explored impasto in art. 

1.12.25 - 5.12.25

We have begun writing our own letters to Scrooge to persuade him to embrace the Christmas spirit during our English lessons. In maths we have continued to explore measures - looking at miles and kilometres. 

Our non-core has looked at legends surrounding King John and the idea of bias as well as using our Science knowledge to explore and investigate Electricity. 

24.11.25 - 28.11.25

This week was assessment week. The children worked hard in their tests. In maths lessons we began to explore measures and converting metric measures. 

Our non-core lessons focused on finding out about the legacy of King John in History and exploring how the seasons and the Earth's position in space affect the amount of daylight we get. 

17.11.25 - 21.11.25

This week the children created their own suspenseful ending to the Alma story in their writing. For mathematics we have explored multiplication and division of fractions. 

In non-core this week we explored how the position of the Earth affects the seasons as well as continuing to explore being ourselves in PSHE. 

10.11.25 - 14.11.25

For our first week back we have begun a new writing unit looking at the short film Alma and focusing on how to create suspense in our writing. We have explored addition and subtraction of fractions for our maths work. 

During our non - core work this week we have looked at being ourselves in PSHE, explored how being Christians affects the way people act and had a visit from the PCSO's. 

20.10.25 - 24.10.25

We have written our own battle speeches during English and have continued to explore fractions in Maths through addition and subtraction. 

The children have enjoyed their Halloween disco. 

13.10.25 - 17.10.25

We continue to explore our persuasive battle speeches during English - the children seem to be enjoying this unit a lot. Maths lessons have begun to focus on fractions and simplification of fractions. 

We have continued our exploration of Asia in Geography and classification during Science by progressing to plants. 

6.10.25 - 10.10.25

This week we are still exploring our persuasive speeches during English. Our Maths lessons have progressed to division problems. 

In non core we have continued exploring about how William the Conqueror affected England and have explored Russia for Geography. 

29.9.25 - 3.10.25

This week we have begun exploring how to create a persuasive speech based on a battle speech linked to our History work of the Battle of Hastings. We have started to solve multiplication problems in Maths. 

We continue to attend swimming this week. 

22.9.25 - 26.9.25

We have begun writing our own thriller story in English - exploring the idea of moving and finding an abandoned building opposite us. We have continued to explore number through the ideas of primes and cubes this week. 

Swimming classes have filled our non core sessions this week and the children are enjoying learning daily at the pool. 

15.9.25 - 19.9.25

We have continued our thriller writing in English, exploring how to grip a reader using Thornill as inspiration. We have begun to explore common factors and mulitples in Maths lessons. 

We have begun computing and looking at how information is shared as well as beginning our exploration of Asia for Geography. 

8.9.25 - 12.9.25

This week we have been exploring Thornhill during our English lessons and looking at how to write a thriller text. Our Maths work has focused on using our place value skills and applying them to numbers up to ten million. 

We have begun our exploration of the Monarchy in History - beginning in 1066 and the Norman Conquest as well as grouping living things for Science.
