Spring Term 2024

PE-

PE this half term is on a Monday and a Tuesday as last half term. 

Monday will be dance in the hall but warm clothes will likely be required on a Tuesday.

Reading - 

Please remember to read five times a week and log this on boom reader.

 This week we have explored writing a review about a product focusing on disgusting jelly beans. We have used our Maths lessons to explore nets. 

During non- core lessons we have explored icing art.

18/3/24 - 22/3/24

 This week we have explored the use of commas focusing on subordinates and relatives in English. We have used our Maths lessons to explore angles. 

During non- core lessons we have explored origami art. 

11/3/24 - 15/3/24

 This week we have used our knowledge of diaries and reports to explore the features involved in writing a dary - including emotive language and first person perspective. We have used our Maths lessons to explore area and perimeter. 

4/3/24 - 8/3/24

 This week we haveexplored our Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar knowledge. We have used our Maths lessons to explore statistics - including line graphs and pie charts. 

During non- core lessons we have explored how the British Empire began during our History lessons and created plans for protecting our environments. 

26/2/24 - 1/3/24

 This week we have used our knowledge of diaries to create our own diary entry based on a soldier's recount of World War II. We have used our Maths lessons to continue to explore area and perimeter as well as volume. 

During non- core lessons we have compared Elizabeth I to her father Henry VIII. 

19/2/24 - 23/2/24

This week we have used our knowledge of diaries and reports to explore the features involved in writing a dary - including emotive language and first person perspective. We have used our Maths lessons to explore area and perimeter. 

During non- core lessons we have explored creating a fashion brand and the damage humans cause to biomes in Geography. 

29/1/24 - 2/2/24

This week we have used our knowledge of Newspapers to create a new piece based on The Highwayman. We have used our time in Maths lessons to explore percentages. 

During non-core lessons we have explored how Elizabeth I became queen in History, creating our own text adventure games in ICT, and grasslands in Geography.

22/1/24 - 26/1/24

This week we have explored the features of Newspapers and linked this to The Highwayman and events in the text. We have spent our Maths time exploring th relationships between decimals and fractions. 

During non-core lessons we have explored how to plan text adventure games in ICT, the bolero and associated rhythms and harmonies, and adding detail to perspective drawings during Art. 

15/1/24 - 19/1/24

This week we have used our knowledge of narratives to create short descriptive paragraphs based on the Highwayman. We have used our time in Maths lessons to explore decimals. 

During non-core lessons we have explored the evidence for theories like evolution in Science, and the rainforest Biome during Geography.

8/1/24 - 12/1/24

This week we have explored colons, semi colons, dialogue, passives and expanded noun phrases linked to The Highwayman. We have used our time in Maths lessons to explore problems with two unknowns. 

During non-core lessons we have explored perspective in Art, The pillars of Islam during RE, and Henry VIII's role in the Monarchy since 1066 during History. 

3/1/24 - 5/1/24

This week we have explored metaphors, smiles and hyphens linked to The Highwayman. We have used our time in Maths lessons to explore how to solve equations. 

During non-core lessons we have explored how evolution comes about, and where the biomes are located on Earth.
