Community Project- Church Lane Community Café.

The covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on all of our lives in one way or another. However, during this time, the power of humanity has really shone through with communities becoming closer than ever before.

Church Lane Primary School and nursery, like other schools, has really become a hub of the community during this time supporting all of our families - providing well over 1500 food boxes during this period as well as providing support with accessing food banks and family mental health support.

As a school we would like to stretch this community spirit further by bringing everyone together-particularly families within the Sleaford community and open our own community Café. The aim would be to open to families across Sleaford and provide a service which supports all that use it in one way or another. Not only will the café provide families with a safe place to socialise, an area for children and parents to access the internet to do homework and upskill themselves through online study, it will be a place where courses such as parenting, mother and toddler groups can be delivered, it will also act as a foodbank to support families in times of need and a place where pre-loved clothing can get new owners. Most importantly though the Café will BRING OUR COMMUNITY CLOSER and families together.

Church Lane Primary school are now actively looking at fundraising to make this happen. We have a target to raise £10,000 in order for us to purchase a converted shipping container, a generator and tables and chairs to get the café up and running. We of course will always also take food and clothing donations which we can then pass on to the families who need them in our area.

If there are any businesses that would like to donate to our £10,000 target, then we are offering approx. a 1 foot by 1 foot square of advertisement on the side of our Café for a donation of £75. If you would like to buy more than one square of course this would be more than possible.

Thank you
