PE Summer Term 2020

National School Sports Week - Monday 22nd - Friday 26th June

It is National School Sports Week and we want to encourage our community to get as actively involved as possible during the week beginning 22nd June.

The Carre's Outreach team have organised a ‘60 active minutes’ daily challenge for National School Sports Week. Each day, the worksheet provides the children with an activity to complete, as well as space to write down any additional activities they complete to contribute towards their recommended dose of 60 active minutes. These activities include; the Virtual School Games Primary Dance event, egg and spoon races, welly wanging, sack races and obstacle courses. They can include active travel to/from school along with any Joe Wicks sessions, school PE lessons, break/lunch activities and family bike rides/runs, etc.

With Carre's Outreach partners at Active Lincolnshire, they would like to offer some equipment vouchers to the schools that get the most entries in. An entry would be a completed activity sheet, submitted by email, from one child. We will also accept entries from parents, grandparents and siblings as additional points towards your school total... AND to make it even fairer, we will work out your score based upon the percentage of children in your school so smaller schools won’t be at a disadvantage.

Just for Fun!

Following the success of the Lincolnshire School Games Virtual Event series, please find attached an opportunity to take part in the final event; Strictly Home Dancing – Primary Dance Virtual Festival.

This isn’t a competition, just a chance for children to create a routine based upon some starter moves (in the pack) from dances throughout the decades. When you submit your content, you can choose if you would like it to be shown on social media or not. We hope to be able to share some of the content as inspiration throughout national school sport week as we work towards 60 daily active minutes for everyone.
