Please find a link on the left hand side 'Knowledge organiser'. This link will take you to the knowledge organiser created for the summer term. On the Knowledge organiser you will find key vocabulary, explorers a timeline and small activity, the aim of the knowledge organiser is to give children an insight into the topic which will be delivered next term as well as provide with some crucial learning needed for next term. Please take a look and share with your child. A paper copy will be sent out on the first day back also.

Good morning,

Tomorrow is our class Pizza Day! I hope this will be a very exciting day for the children and that we can all get brothers, sister, mum's, dad's and other family members involved too.

Today we will be delivering the pizza packs. With these we will also be delivering a timetable with a plan for the day, including any resources you will need and a role play pack with possible props you may want to use to encourage imaginative play.

Alongside this we will also be delivering new home learning books and packs for those children at home, therefore we will be collecting in all home learning books and packs as mentioned in my previous email.

Enjoy and have a lovely Pizza day, photos emailed or uploaded to google classroom would be greatly appreciated.

PS. We are creating a lockdown legends display so any pictures of photos that the children have been doing at home we would love for you to send them in so that we can proudly show all that they have been up to.

Important information:

From this week (11.1.21) Children will be receiving their learning remotely via a rnage of platforms. There English and Maths lessons will be Live with their Class teacher and others will be done remotely from home. It is important that for your child to recieve the full curriculum that they follow the timetable set by their class teacher. This work is non negotiable and is compulsory for your child's education.

A full overview of the lessons being taught this term has been uploaded under the tab “online learning plan”. This shows the learning that your child will receive this term. These lessons will be taught both to the children at home and those at school.

A weekly timetable with links to learning will be uploaded weekly on both the Year 1 class page and the Year 1 home learning page. Please do not divert from this timetable. It has been planned to provide children with a rounded curriculum. Therefore it is important that children stick to the sequence as planned.

The links to learning will also be uploaded to the Google classroom page daily, along with any assignments that need to be completedt to support their remote learning. You will find that along with most of the links the teachers will ask for a comment or picture to show how your child has found that piece of work. It is important that when asked to comment that this is followed through so that the teachers can return work.

When the teacher returns work it will come with a mark. The work will be scored out of 100. The marks work as follows:

100- Super Job! Well done!

50- Good try, keep going.

Below 50- Let's try this again.

Important- The work posted on Google classroom is for those NOT attending school. This is NOT homework or additional work for those who ARE in school. All work on Google Classroom is being taught in the classroom and does not need completing by those children who ARE in school.

If there are any problems please speak email enquiries@sleafordchurchlane.lincs.sch.uk
